Legislative - they make the laws for the country. Congress is the group that makes the laws. Congress has two parts: the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Executive - this branch includes the President, the Vice-President, and the cabinet (their advisors)

Judicial - this is the court system. At the top is the Supreme Court. These are judges who listen to many cases and then make a ruling.
